Editorial Policy

Effective from January 2026. Reviewed annually. This document describes the standards, sourcing practices, corrections procedures, and disclosure requirements that govern all content published by Grasol Notebook.

1. Purpose and Scope

Grasol Notebook is an independent editorial publication focused on active living, daily practice, morning attention, and the incremental habits that contribute to sustained physical and mental clarity. This editorial policy governs all articles, field notes, editorial comments, and other written content published on this website.

The policy does not govern reader correspondence or comments submitted to the publication, though the editorial team reserves the right to publish excerpts of correspondence with the permission of the sender.

2. Editorial Independence

All editorial decisions at Grasol Notebook are made independently by the editorial team, without commercial influence. The publication does not accept payment for editorial coverage, endorsement, or mention. Writers do not receive compensation from third parties in connection with the subject matter of their contributions.

Commercial relationships — including any affiliate links, sponsored content, or product partnerships — are clearly labelled and separated from editorial content. At the time of publication, Grasol Notebook carries no affiliate relationships and accepts no advertising. Should this change, this policy will be updated and a visible notice will be placed on the relevant pages.

3. Sourcing Standards

Claims that reference published scientific or academic research are traced to their source before publication. Where research is referenced, the relevant finding is described as accurately as the original allows. The publication does not overstate findings, present correlations as causal conclusions, or cite sources it has not read in full.

Where a claim cannot be sourced to published research, it is either removed from the article or explicitly presented as personal observation or editorial opinion. Hedging language is used consistently to distinguish between established findings and provisional interpretations.

The publication does not commission or reproduce press releases, promotional content, or industry-funded research without explicit disclosure. If a study cited in an entry was funded by a commercial entity with an interest in its outcome, that relationship is noted.

4. Personal Observation and Anecdotal Evidence

Grasol Notebook publishes documented personal observations as a distinct editorial form. Articles of this type are labelled with their observational character — the author, the duration of the observation period, and the conditions under which observations were made are disclosed within the article.

Personal observation is clearly distinguished from published research throughout articles. Language such as "the record suggests," "this observation indicates," or "across these notebooks" is used to signal that a claim derives from personal practice rather than from a broader body of evidence.

The publication does not present personal observation as scientifically validated evidence. Readers are encouraged to regard field notes and observational entries as starting points for their own inquiry rather than as prescriptive guidance.

5. Review and Publication Process

Every article submitted for publication at Grasol Notebook is reviewed by a second editor before any publication decision is made. The reviewer checks for factual accuracy, appropriate hedging of claims, correct attribution of sources, and conformity with the editorial standards described in this document.

Articles are not published until both the writer and the reviewing editor are satisfied that the content meets these standards. Revisions may be requested at any stage of the review. Writers do not receive a publication commitment in advance of the final editorial review.

All articles carry a publication date and an author attribution. Where an article has been substantively revised after initial publication, a revision note is added beneath the author line.

6. Corrections Policy

Grasol Notebook is committed to correcting factual errors promptly and transparently. Readers who identify an error in a published article are encouraged to write to the editorial team at [email protected] with the specific claim and, where available, supporting evidence.

Corrections are assessed within one working day of receipt. Where a factual error is confirmed, the article is corrected and a note is added at the foot of the article stating that a correction was made, the date it was made, and the nature of the change. The original erroneous text is not preserved in the published version of the article, but the correction note provides sufficient context for readers to understand what changed.

Corrections of interpretation or editorial opinion are considered at the discretion of the editorial team. Where a reader believes an interpretation is materially misleading, the editorial team will review the relevant passage and respond with its assessment.

7. Disclosures and Conflicts of Interest

Writers contributing to Grasol Notebook are required to disclose any commercial, personal, or institutional relationship that could reasonably influence their coverage of a subject. This includes, but is not limited to: employment or consulting relationships with organisations in the relevant field, equity or financial interests in companies mentioned, and personal relationships with individuals referenced in the content.

Disclosed relationships are noted in the author biography associated with the relevant article. Where a disclosure is material to the article's subject matter, it is also noted within the article body.

8. Health and Wellness Disclaimer

Grasol Notebook is an editorial publication. It is not a health publication, a specialist resource, or a professional wellness service. Nothing published on this site constitutes professional, nutritional, psychological, or fitness advice.

Readers with specific concerns about their own health, physical condition, or mental wellbeing are strongly encouraged to consult a qualified health practitioner or registered professional before making changes to their routines based on anything published here.

The observations, field notes, and editorial content on this site describe the personal practices of the writers who contribute to the publication. They are not intended for generalisation, directive, or use as a substitute for professional guidance.

9. Contact and Policy Queries

Queries about this editorial policy, including requests for clarification and reports of potential breaches, should be directed to [email protected] with the subject line "Editorial Policy Query." The editorial team will respond within five working days.

This policy was last reviewed and updated in January 2026. It will be reviewed annually. Any material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revision date.
